It’s the Little Things
I find myself saying on a regular basis, “It’s the little things.”
The kind gesture from a nurse who stayed longer than she had to, to comfort my mom when she was not well.
The way M says, “I like your dress,” in the most genuine, interested voice he can.
A store clerk who stops to ask if she can help, and then helps as though it’s a total pleasure.
The way the cleaning crew folds the toilet paper.
The extra thought that went into creating a menu that delights the reader in addition to describing the food.
The dragonfly who pops in to say hi on my walks.
The sweet little lick on my chin by Otis, who knows I’m not big into face licks but still wants to express his love.
The bed made on the weekends.
The unexpected invite. The perfect dessert. The morning bird chirps.
Some little things are people taking extra time. Taking extra care.
Some little things are regular old things that usually go unnoticed.
Little things delight us.
What little things are you doing in your business?
Going above and beyond, just because.
Planting surprises in just the right places.
Being helpful when it counts.
Celebrating your customers.
Showing your gratitude.
